Exploring the Thriller Genre -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INTRODUCTION For my project, I chose to explore the thriller genre . I was drawn to thrillers because they are some of the most suspenseful and thought-provoking films ever made. Unlike action or comedy, thrillers keep you on the edge of your seat by building tension, creating mystery, and exploring the psychological side of characters. I enjoy how thrillers constantly make you question what will happen next and often end with surprising twists. Through my research, I learned that thrillers have a long history. In the early 20th century, directors like Alfred Hitchcock shaped the genre with suspense classics such as Psycho (1960). ANALYZING MEDIA THROUGH MY FAVORITE MOVIE --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://youtu.be/cgmgZmTMxms?si=NQonPofkATEaI3W1 In this scene from the movie COCO released in 2017, shows and represents multiple aspects of identity. The Mise-en-scene in this clip, gives a warm and homely lighting a  round mama coco which shows a contrast with the vibrancy of the afterlife visuals from earlier in the movie, giving the scene a realism and memorial look.  Another example is the sound and dialogue used, the song "Remember Me" carries an emotional and narrative weight, and when Miguel sings it gives the scene a cultural bridge.  Theres multiple aspects of identity in this scene but I'm going to talk about 2 which are age and Race/Ethnicity. Age is represented by Miguels, he expresses this by his actions, his curiosity and self-expression, while mama coco is older, and she embodies memory, tradition, and genera...
