This week, our group focused on planning out one of the main scenes for our music video, the cafeteria scene. In this clip, the main character walks into the lunchroom and sees her old friends talking and laughing together, but they're clearly avoiding her. It's a simple moment, but it shows a big emotional shift in their friendship, which connects perfectly to the lyrics of "TV" by Billie Eilish.

For mise-en-scene, we decided to use a realistic school cafeteria setting since it fits the story. We want to make sure the lighting feels bright and normal at first, but a little washed out to match the lonely mood of the main character. The friends will be sitting close together, and she'll be standing a bit apart, that spacing helps show the emotional distance between them. Everyone will wear casual, neutral clothes so it feels natural and relatable.

Shot List Idea
      

 For camerawork, we're planning to use an over-the- shoulder shot from the main character's point of view, so the audience can see her perspective as she looks at her old friends. Then we'll cut to a wide shot of the group to show how she's left out. We might also add a slow zoom or a focus shift to make the moment more emotional. For sound, we'll keep the song playing quietly in the background while including soft cafeteria noises, like chatter and footsteps, to make it feel real. When the main character notices her friends, we might lower the volume of everything else for a second, so it feels like time slows down for her. In editing, this scene will probably fade in from a flashback or a happier memory. We're thinking of using a slight color filter to make it look a little duller than the other scenes, showing that this moment hurts more.

We chose this song because it's really emotional and talks about growing apart from people you care about.
