Film Opening

 FILM OPENING BRAINSTORMING!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A film opening that inspires my idea is the beginning of "Sharp Objects" (the HBO series). I like how it introduces different characters separately but uses quick flashes, objects, and visual clues to show that they are connected by something darker underneath. It doesn't explain everything right away, it builds tension through atmosphere, close-up shots, and details that don't make sense at first but become important later. For the film opening about three girls who don't know each other but are connected to something that happened, our group wants to use a similar style. We want to show each girl in her own environment, with small hints that link them, like matching objects, sounds, or flashes of the same event, so the audience starts putting the pieces together before the characters do.

I added the trailer because it shows the exact type of atmosphere, I want for my own film opening. The trailer does a really good job of creating tension through quick flashes, small details, and short clips of characters who don't seem connected at first. That mystery style is similar to what we want to use for our story about the three girls and the event they're all unknowingly tied to. Watching the trailer also helped me think about pacing, lighting, and the kind of visual clues I want to include to keep the audience curious from the very beginning.
